In a bold political statement, BJP leader Ajay Alok has declared that Tihar Jail will soon become the next residence for the Lalu Prasad Yadav family amid the escalating Land for Jobs scam investigation. Speaking at a public rally in Patna, Alok didn’t mince words, accusing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and his kin of orchestrating a massive corruption racket that allegedly involved allotting railway jobs in exchange for prime land parcels during Lalu’s tenure as Railway Minister.
The case, which has been under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), dates back to 2004-2009. Prosecutors claim that instead of cash bribes, job seekers were coerced into transferring land to Lalu’s family members and associates at throwaway prices. Properties in Bihar’s most sought-after locations mysteriously ended up in the possession of the Yadav clan’s relatives, raising serious questions about the transparency of government recruitments.
Ajay Alok, a vocal critic of the RJD, painted a vivid picture of accountability dawning on the corrupt dynasty. ‘The days of loot are over. Tihar’s bars await Lalu, his sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap, daughter Misa Bharti, and the entire cabal,’ he thundered, drawing cheers from BJP supporters. He highlighted recent ED raids that uncovered incriminating documents and shell companies linked directly to the family.
As the opposition braces for potential arrests, the political temperature in Bihar is soaring. With assembly elections on the horizon, Alok’s remarks serve as a sharp reminder of the NDA’s anti-corruption crusade. The Lalu family has dismissed the allegations as vendetta politics, but the noose appears to be tightening. Will Tihar indeed become their next address? Only time, and the courts, will tell.
