AHMEDABAD: Chaos erupted at the Ahmedabad Rural Court on Wednesday after an anonymous bomb threat was received, prompting immediate heightening of security measures by local authorities and agencies. The menacing message triggered a swift response, with fire department vehicles rushing to the scene and emergency teams deploying alongside senior officials.
Firefighters were placed on high alert to handle any potential disaster. Joint teams from police and fire services conducted a thorough search of the court premises, meticulously checking courtrooms, parking areas, and other sensitive spots. Panic spread among lawyers, litigants, and staff, leading to the safe evacuation of several individuals as a precaution.
No suspicious objects have been found so far, but officials insist no chances are being taken. Investigations are intensifying to trace the source of the threat and identify the perpetrator. Preliminary findings suggest it might aim to create fear and disorder, though all angles are under scrutiny.
This incident follows a similar bomb threat earlier that day to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. An email from an unknown ID, purportedly from ‘Amber Durham,’ targeted the airport’s official email at 11:05 AM, with the subject ‘Bomb Blast Luggage Section’ warning that ‘Ahmedabad Airport is the target.’ Airport police registered a complaint, and bomb squads swept the entire facility.
Security remains beefed up at both locations. Authorities are probing possible links between the two threats, ensuring strict adherence to protocols until investigations conclude. The public is urged to stay calm while vigilance continues.
