The aftermath of the Ahmedabad Air India plane crash sees families of the victims preparing to file lawsuits against both Boeing and Air India. A combined legal effort involving Keystone Law (UK) and Wisner Law Firm (US) will launch legal proceedings in both the US and UK courts. The legal teams are focused on representing the interests of the victims’ families, leveraging international law. The upcoming legal action is separate from any support provided by Tata Sons. James Healy-Pratt of Keystone Law stated that they have been in close communication with the families and are assessing all available evidence. They are considering legal action against Boeing in the US, with a parallel lawsuit against Air India in London’s High Court. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner crash, bound for London, claimed 241 lives, with one survivor. The aircraft crashed shortly after departing Ahmedabad, impacting a medical college. The deceased included 181 Indian citizens and 52 from the UK. The Tata Group, owner of Air India, had previously offered compensation. The legal team is currently reviewing initial settlement offers from Air India’s insurer, Tata AIG. Legal filings are anticipated after a comprehensive investigation. Some families may opt to sue Air India in London under English law, while others may file in a US federal court in Virginia. The legal strategy will focus on Boeing based on the evidence gathered, potentially seeking full and unlimited financial compensation.
