Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has reported a robust 37% year-on-year increase in energy sales for the first nine months of fiscal year 2026. This impressive growth is fueled by significant capacity expansions and stellar operational performance, positioning the company as a frontrunner in India’s renewable energy sector.

The company’s operational capacity has skyrocketed by 48% annually to reach 17.2 gigawatts (GW). In this period, AGEL added a staggering 5.6 GW of greenfield capacity, accounting for 14% of all new solar and wind capacity installed across India. This addition alone represents over 90% of the capacity growth achieved throughout the entire fiscal year 2025.

Financially, revenues climbed 25% to Rs 8,508 crore, while EBITDA rose 24% to Rs 7,921 crore. These figures underscore AGEL’s ability to scale operations efficiently amid rising demand for clean energy.

CEO Ashish Khanna highlighted the company’s momentum, stating that in calendar year 2026, AGEL commissioned 5.6 GW of renewable capacity—nearly 14% of India’s total new solar and wind additions. ‘This milestone solidifies our position as India’s leading green energy provider, with operational capacity now at 17.2 GW,’ he said.

Khanna also emphasized progress on landmark projects. The historic Khavda project, the world’s largest renewable energy park, is advancing rapidly. Plans are underway to commission one of the globe’s largest single-location battery energy storage systems in the coming months. Additionally, the pumped storage project on the Chitravati River in Andhra Pradesh remains on schedule.

AGEL generated over 27 billion units of electricity in the nine months, enough to power a nation like Azerbaijan for an entire year. At Khavda in Gujarat, the massive 30 GW renewable plant spans 538 square kilometers—five times the size of Paris—setting a global benchmark for ultra-scale green energy developments.

As India accelerates its transition to sustainable energy, Adani Green Energy’s aggressive expansion signals strong investor confidence and a commitment to net-zero goals. The company’s trajectory suggests even more groundbreaking achievements ahead.
