ABU DHABI – In a precautionary measure amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi has announced its closure to visitors until March 9. The decision comes in light of current circumstances and national security advisories, prioritizing the safety of devotees and guests above all.
The temple management emphasized that the well-being of all bhakts remains their top priority. During this temporary shutdown, resident swamis will continue performing daily prayers within the temple premises for peace, security, and the welfare of everyone. However, public access will be strictly restricted.
This announcement was shared via an official post on X, accompanied by a poster detailing the closure. ‘In view of the present situation and in accordance with the National Security Advisory, BAPS Hindu Mandir, Abu Dhabi will remain closed to visitors until Monday, March 9, as a precaution,’ the post stated. It urged everyone to stay calm, avoid rumors, remain indoors where advised, and strictly follow safety guidelines issued through official government channels.
The temple called for unity in faith, responsibility, and trust, while praying for harmony and strength for the nation. Further updates will be provided as necessary.
The backdrop to this decision is the spiraling conflict in West Asia. Following major strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, tensions have reached a boiling point. Iran retaliated with drone and missile attacks on Israel, targeting American military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar as well.
As regional instability mounts, places of worship like the iconic BAPS Mandir – a symbol of cultural harmony in the UAE – are taking swift action to ensure safety. Devotees worldwide are urged to pray from home and stay informed through verified sources.
