New Delhi is buzzing as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gears up for a major gathering at Jantar Mantar, signaling a renewed push for the capital’s rights. Senior AAP leader Gopal Rai declared that the party is committed to battling for Delhi’s interests, vowing to intensify this struggle amid what he calls a year of misery under BJP rule.
In an exclusive interview, Rai painted a grim picture of Delhi’s plight over the past year. ‘The entire city has been suffering,’ he stated, emphasizing that courts have cleared all AAP leaders of wrongdoing. The party plans to stick to honest politics while amplifying their fight for Delhi’s autonomy.
AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj clarified that this is a public meeting, not a protest, featuring key figures like national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and leaders from Goa and Gujarat. He slammed the BJP and Lieutenant Governor for sacking thousands of young workers, including bus marshals, through fabricated cases. Kejriwal will address these injustices head-on.
Bharadwaj didn’t hold back on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s administration, accusing it of firing dedicated employees who now vow to ‘set her Lanka ablaze.’ He highlighted how Delhi Police and officials tried to sabotage the event by removing chairs, warning that when the people reclaim power, no one will save those chairs.
Isudan Gadhvi praised Kejriwal’s unwavering honesty, noting the nation’s eager anticipation for the event. Atishi recounted the BJP’s alleged conspiracies against AAP and Kejriwal, which have impacted all Delhiites. She assured that Kejriwal will spotlight the city’s pressing issues during the rally.
As AAP’s caravan gains momentum nationwide, this Jantar Mantar event could mark a turning point in Delhi’s political landscape, rallying support against perceived central overreach.
