A tragic incident in Delhi’s Janakpuri neighborhood has ignited a fierce political firestorm. A 25-year-old man, Kamal Dhyaani, lost his life after falling into an open road pit, prompting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj to hold the government and Delhi Police directly accountable. In a scathing attack, Bharadwaj demanded the immediate suspension of Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, labeling the episode as gross negligence followed by a calculated cover-up.

Bharadwaj asserted that Dhyaani’s death was entirely preventable. He revealed that police had precise location data from the victim’s mobile phone but failed to share it with the family in time. ‘Had they acted promptly, Kamal would be alive today,’ he declared, accusing authorities of deliberate inaction to shield the government.

The AAP leader detailed how Dhyaani’s family and friends roamed six different police stations overnight seeking justice, only to be turned away without an FIR at any. Shockingly, no action has been taken against the station house officers involved. Bharadwaj questioned the lack of accountability for such monumental lapses.

Eyewitnesses reported no barricades at the site initially, which mysteriously appeared after a government minister and police arrived, staging the scene to feign prior safety measures. Despite numerous CCTV cameras in the area, not a single footage has been released, fueling suspicions of a hidden truth.

Bharadwaj called for all CCTV recordings to be made public immediately to clarify how the young man reached the fatal pit. AAP insists on an impartial probe and the commissioner’s suspension not just for the death, but for the subsequent cover-up, withheld location data, unreleased videos, and refusal to register complaints. This demand underscores a deeper call for systemic reform in Delhi’s law enforcement.
