New Delhi – In a move to strengthen its organisational framework before the 2027 Goa Legislative Assembly polls, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unveiled a fresh Goa Core Committee on Sunday. The announcement, issued through a press release dated 4 October 2026, came from the party's national secretary Pankaj Kumar Gupta and was dispatched from the party headquarters in Delhi.
The six‑member committee will be chaired by Valmiki Naik, who also holds the position of AAP’s Goa state president. Naik will guide the team comprising senior party figures such as MLA Captain Venji Viegas, engineer Cruz Silva, Executive President Gerson Gomes, Organization Secretary Prashant Naik, and Senior Vice‑President Sandesh Telikar‑Desai.
The released statement wished each member success in their new responsibilities. The formation of this core body signals AAP’s intent to fine‑tune its electoral strategy, candidate selection, campaign planning and possible alliances ahead of the 2027 contest.
In the 2022 Goa assembly election, AAP secured two seats, marking a foothold in the state. Political analysts say the new committee aims to project the party as a credible alternative to the BJP and Congress in what is expected to be a three‑cornered battle.
