Gautam Buddh Nagar police launched a decisive two-day crackdown against drug trafficking and illegal liquor sales, achieving a major breakthrough on February 17-18. Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh and supervision of Additional Police Commissioner Dr. Rajeev Narayan Mishra, forces arrested 84 smugglers and seized 86 kilograms of ganja along with 470 liters of illicit alcohol.
The operation targeted violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Excise laws. Teams conducted extensive checks and raids across the commissionerate, demonstrating heightened vigilance and swift action on intelligence inputs. This coordinated effort underscores the police’s commitment to dismantling narcotics networks.
In Noida zone, led by DCP Yamuna Prasad, officers screened 5,338 individuals, registering 30 FIRs and arresting 32 suspects. They recovered 56 kg ganja and 235.8 liters of illegal liquor. Central Noida, under DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi, checked 2,172 people, filed 18 cases, arrested 18, and seized 18 kg ganja plus 97.2 liters liquor.
Greater Noida teams, headed by DCP Saad Miya Khan, inspected 2,773 persons, lodged 33 FIRs, nabbed 34 accused, and confiscated 12 kg ganja and 137 liters alcohol. Overall, 10,283 people were verified, leading to 81 cases and 84 arrests.
Authorities hail this as a pivotal strike against the drug trade. Police urge citizens to report suspicious activities via nearest station or Dial 112, aiming for a drug-free society and secure future. Such drives will continue relentlessly.
