New Delhi buzzed with international energy as 42 chiefs from election management bodies worldwide gathered for the plenary session of the International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM-2026). Held at Bharat Mandapam, this high-level forum tackled the pressing global challenges facing electoral processes today.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alongside Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, inaugurated the session. The event drew around 60 international delegates, including ambassadors and high commissioners, underscoring its global significance.
