The NIA court delivered its verdict on July 31, 2025, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, resulting in the acquittal of all the accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh and Lt Col. Purohit. The ruling came after 17 years of legal proceedings. Following the verdict, Sadhvi Pragya expressed her sentiments, emphasizing that the case had negatively impacted her life. She celebrated the outcome, declaring, “Bhagwa has won.” The former BJP MP stated that the case was initiated to defame ‘Bhagwa’ through a conspiracy.

She detailed her experience, highlighting her arrest and subsequent torture during the investigation, which she said ruined her life. Sadhvi Pragya, who was leading a life of a sage, stated that she was falsely accused. “They defamed Bhagwa through a conspiracy. Today, Bhagwa has won, and Hindutva has won, and God will punish those who are guilty,” she said. The court also ordered that families of the six victims would receive Rs 2 lakh, while the injured would be compensated with Rs 50,000. While the prosecution was able to prove the occurrence of a blast, the court found the evidence insufficient to connect the bomb to the motorcycle used in the blast. The court corrected the number of injured and cited manipulation of medical records.
