Mumbai’s iconic screen siren Zeena Aman has once again turned heads by sharing a throwback scene from her 1970s thriller ‘Teesri Aankh’, sparking a candid conversation about evolving gender roles in Hindi cinema. The veteran actress, known for her bold choices, posted the clip on Instagram, where her character Barkha playfully pursues Dharmendra’s reluctant Ashok Bhola in a cheeky chase that flips traditional dynamics.

In her caption, Zeena reflected on revisiting old films: ‘Watching scenes from classic movies is always a unique and fun experience. You never know which moment will touch your heart or make you think deeply.’ She drew parallels to a recent share from ‘Donstana’, where Amitabh Bachchan’s cop Vijay harasses a woman, labeling it uncomfortable today.

‘Just two years apart, yet the portrayals differ vastly,’ Zeena noted. In ‘Donstana’, the man is the aggressor; in ‘Teesri Aankh’, Barkha takes charge, turning the man into the shy prey. This gender reversal makes one scene infuriating and the other amusing, highlighting how norms have shifted.

Zeena clarified she doesn’t endorse Barkha’s antics any more than Vijay’s, admitting Bollywood often glamorized obsessive pursuits under the guise of fun. ‘We’ve promoted manic romance over genuine love, and I’ve been part of that. Now, I’m trying to correct it.’ She stressed consent and mutual respect as non-negotiables in relationships, lessons learned the hard way.

Fans flooded the comments, debating cinema’s influence on societal views. Zeena eagerly awaits their thoughts, cherishing memories with co-star Dharmendra. This post underscores her role as a reflective voice in Bollywood’s ongoing transformation, reminding us that progress demands scrutiny of the past.
