The past week was marked by a diverse slate of films, from heartfelt dramas to compelling stories of resilience. The box office results on Sunday reflected this varied performance. ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, the Rishab Shetty film, has accumulated an impressive Rs 617 crore net domestically and Rs 728.06 crore gross worldwide. Its enduring popularity in theaters, even after an OTT release, is a testament to its strong appeal.
‘Haq’, a courtroom drama featuring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam, has found a consistent audience. Its first Sunday earnings were Rs 3.75 crore, bringing its total Indian box office collection to Rs 8.85 crore. The film’s success is largely attributed to positive word-of-mouth and compelling performances.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘Thamma’ continues its successful run, adding Rs 1.65 crore to its impressive total of Rs 131.05 crore. ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, has shown good stability, earning Rs 1.50 crore on Sunday, pushing its total to Rs 74.95 crore. Its performance is particularly strong in urban markets.
The Assamese film ‘Roi Roi Binale’, which is Zubeen Garg’s final film, is setting new box office benchmarks. It earned Rs 1.89 crore on its tenth day, bringing its net collection to Rs 15.76 crore. This achievement positions it as one of the most successful Assamese films of all time.
‘The Girlfriend’, starring Rashmika Mandanna, saw its peak collection on its initial Sunday, earning Rs 3 crore and reaching a total of Rs 6.80 crore.
‘The Taj Story’, a period drama featuring Paresh Rawal, is performing solidly in its second week. On November 9, it garnered Rs 2.09 crore, showing an increase from Saturday and accumulating Rs 15.74 crore. This is a noteworthy achievement for a film with a more limited release.
Beyond Indian cinema, ‘Predator: Badlands’ has made a significant global impact, breaking franchise records with an extraordinary $80 million worldwide opening weekend.
