Vidya Balan has made a significant mark in Hindi cinema with her versatile acting skills. She has featured in a variety of successful Bollywood films, enjoying a long career in the industry. However, her acting career started on the small screen, not in Bollywood. The show that launched her acting career was a favorite of her mother’s.

Vidya Balan began her journey on television before transitioning to Bollywood. Early on, she faced challenges, but she gained recognition as her career progressed. She also worked in advertisements. In one advertisement, she played the role of a mother to an 8-year-old child when she was just 19 years old.

Her Debut on her Mother’s Favorite Show: Vidya always dreamed of becoming an actress. While her father wanted her to prioritize her education, her mother was initially against her acting ambitions. However, when Vidya was offered the show ‘Hum Paanch,’ her mother approved because she loved the show. Vidya worked on the show for approximately a year and a half.

At the young age of 19, Vidya portrayed the mother of an 8-year-old in a detergent powder advertisement. Initially, she was hesitant about the role because of her age but later agreed.

Some of Vidya Balan’s notable films include ‘Parineeta’ (2005), ‘The Dirty Picture,’ ‘Mission Mangal,’ ‘Tumhari Sulu,’ ‘No One Killed Jessica,’ ‘Ishqiya,’ ‘Paa,’ ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa,’ ‘Heyy Babyy,’ ‘Guru,’ and ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai,’ showcasing her versatility over two decades in Bollywood.
