Mumbai’s legendary filmmaker Subhash Ghai has long been a pillar of Indian cinema, crafting blockbusters that blend entertainment with profound social messages on family, relationships, and human emotions. His latest buzz isn’t from the silver screen but from a heartfelt encounter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Republic Day.
Ghai shared a striking photo on Instagram capturing the moment he and PM Modi exchanged warm namaskars at the Republic Day home reception. In his caption, the director couldn’t hold back his admiration for Modi’s unique charisma. ‘PM Modi’s personality is extraordinary,’ Ghai wrote. ‘He communicates more through his eyes than words.’
Recalling the interaction, Ghai described how Modi greeted him by name with a beaming smile, leaving a lasting impression. He likened the Prime Minister’s aura to that of a magician, enchanting everyone in his presence. ‘May God grant him a long, healthy, and joyful life,’ Ghai added sincerely.
This meeting underscores Ghai’s deep respect for Modi, a sentiment echoed in his public expressions. Beyond his cinematic legacy—launching superstars and delivering timeless hits like ‘Khalnayak’ and ‘Lamhe’—Ghai has nurtured new talent through his Whistling Woods International film school.
In a recent interview, Ghai explained the school’s mission: to guide aspiring filmmakers who often get lost in Mumbai’s maze after arriving with big dreams. ‘They don’t know where studios are, whom to approach, or how to showcase talent,’ he said. ‘Our program lets students spend 2-3 years training with experts, practicing skills, and preparing for industry entry.’
Ghai’s contributions continue to shape Bollywood, blending artistry with mentorship while celebrating national leaders who inspire him.
