Mumbai’s yesteryear star Sonam Khan has once again transported fans back to the golden era of Bollywood with a candid revelation from the sets of her 1991 film ‘Dushman Devta’. Known for her memorable roles in hits like ‘Tridev’ and ‘Vishwatma’, Sonam recently shared a behind-the-scenes story about the iconic song ‘Uri Uri Baba’ that has left netizens nostalgic and amused.

Taking to Instagram, the actress posted a clip of the vibrant dance number where she grooves barefoot alongside Suraj Pancholi. ‘Yes, that’s me! Shooting ‘Uri Uri Baba’… It was scorching hot, and I had to dance barefoot. Ended up with painful blisters on my feet,’ she captioned the video, offering a glimpse into the physical toll of those high-energy shoots.

Fans flooded the comments with love, sharing their own memories of the song sung by Usha Uthup with lyrics by Anjaan and music by Bappi Lahiri. The track remains a fun staple from the action-drama directed by Anil Ganguly, featuring heavyweights like Dharmendra, Dimple Kapadia, and Aditya Pancholi.

The film’s plot revolves around a village terrorized by dacoits and wild animals. Dharmendra plays a reformed thief suspected in the murder of the village teacher, Master Dinanath. As villagers begin worshipping him as a deity, his hidden motives unfold in a tale of redemption and intrigue. Despite a stellar cast, ‘Dushman Devta’ failed to impress at the box office, leading to significant losses for the producers.

Sonam’s career took off with the Telugu film in 1987, but it was the chartbuster ‘Tirchi Topi’ that cemented her as a dancing diva. Though she exited the industry early, her occasional social media posts keep her legacy alive, reminding everyone of the grit behind the glamour.
