Shefali Jariwala, ‘Kaanta Laga’ Icon, Passes Away: A Look Back at Her Life and Career

Shefali Jariwala, the well-known actress and model, who was a contestant on Bigg Boss 13 in 2019, has died in Mumbai at 42. The ‘Kaanta Laga Girl,’ as she was affectionately known, passed away following a cardiac arrest on the night of June 27. Her husband, Parag Tyagi, along with others, brought her to Bellevue Multispeciality hospital. Reports indicate that she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, despite immediate medical attention. The hospital staff confirmed her death, stating that she did not survive the journey. Her untimely passing has deeply saddened the Bollywood industry. Jariwala shot to fame in the early 2000s with her iconic performance in the ‘Kaanta Laga’ remix video, which made her a household name. Following that, she appeared in Salman Khan’s film ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.’ She also participated in several TV reality shows such as Nach Baliye (Seasons 5 & 7), and was acknowledged for her candid discussions about mental health issues and personal difficulties.
