Mumbai’s film scene just got a powerful jolt with the release of the teaser for ‘Shatak’, a cinematic tribute to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marking its 100-year milestone. Unveiled on Friday, this gripping preview dives deep into the organization’s century-long journey, spotlighting its ideology, social initiatives, and profound impact on India’s cultural fabric.
The teaser doesn’t shy away from addressing long-standing misconceptions surrounding the RSS. It promises a nuanced narrative that goes beyond controversies, offering viewers a historically grounded look at the Sangh’s evolution. Glimpses of its role in India’s freedom struggle, endurance through bans, and resilience during the Emergency era set the stage for an eye-opening experience.
Adding to the buzz, the patriotic song ‘Bhagwa Hai Apni Pehchaan’ was launched at RSS headquarters in Delhi’s Keshav Kunj. Voiced soulfully by Sukhwinder Singh and inaugurated by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, the track captures the film’s essence of unwavering dedication.
Director Ashish Mall shares that crafting ‘Shatak’ was a personal odyssey. ‘During research, I uncovered facets of the RSS rarely discussed openly,’ he says. ‘Our goal is to dispel myths with honesty and bring clarity to the public discourse.’
Producer Vir Kapoor emphasizes the film’s authenticity, drawn from books, documents, and archives. ‘From 1875 to 1950, amid countless movements, only the RSS stood unbroken,’ he notes. The tagline ‘Na Ruke, Na Thake, Na Jhuke’ – Never Stop, Never Tire, Never Bow – embodies this spirit.
Co-produced by Ashish Tiwari and conceptualized by Anil D. Agarwal, ‘Shatak’ hits theaters nationwide on February 19, 2026, presented by ADA 360 Degree LLP. As anticipation builds, this film could redefine conversations around one of India’s most influential organizations.
