Known for his exceptional vocal talent and charming personality, Shaan has garnered a massive fanbase. His music is known for its originality and fresh style. He has delivered countless hits, but one song, ‘Tanha Dil,’ has touched the hearts of many.
The lyrics, ‘Aankhon mein sapne liye ghar se hum chal to diye… jaane ye raahein ab le jaayengi kahaan…’ evoke a sense of nostalgia for those who venture away from their homes. The song was released 25 years ago but remains a popular favorite.
During an interview with TV9 Bharatvarsh, Shaan revealed the narrative behind the song’s creation. He shared that he inherited his love for music from his father, Manas Mukherji. Shaan’s father, who worked extensively in Bengali cinema, inspired his musical journey. Shaan began singing jingles at a young age. At the age of 15 or 16, he realized he wanted to pursue music professionally.
Shaan revealed that the song was created when Ram Sampath, the composer, presented the melody. Shaan dedicated this song to his friends who had moved away. The song is very special to him, always reminding him of his friends. ‘Tanha Dil’ is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
