The event, attended by over 2,000 students, included a discussion led by Basharat Peer. The incident demonstrates Rushdie’s character and approachability. When informed that a daughter of an attendee was in the audience, he publicly acknowledged her. Rushdie later shared his thoughts on *Haider*, praising its adaptation of Shakespeare and Tabu’s performance. Rushdie expressed his amusement at the characters’ names in the film.
