New Delhi, February 19. Actress and cancer survivor Roshni Khan returned from her first-ever pilgrimage to Mecca brimming with spiritual fulfillment, only to be met with a barrage of online trolling. What was meant to be a deeply personal journey for inner peace has turned into a public spectacle, with critics zeroing in on her clothing and fashion decisions.

Barely had Roshni landed back in India when social media users began dissecting her attire from the trip. Old photos resurfaced, sparking debates. Some suggested she delete her past images, while others questioned the sincerity of her faith. Shockingly, a few even dragged her cancer battle into the fray, using it as ammunition against her choices.

In a poised and heartfelt response, Roshni addressed the backlash head-on. ‘I wish people were kinder,’ she shared. ‘Cancer wasn’t a story or a drama for me—it was a fight to save my life. There were days I struggled just to breathe and make it to the next sunrise. My prayers during those times weren’t for show; they came straight from the heart. When your body fails you, faith becomes your anchor.’

She emphasized that her faith never demanded she erase her identity. ‘It hurts when people weaponize my illness to judge my clothes or devotion. Surviving cancer doesn’t mean abandoning who you are,’ Roshni asserted. She clarified firmly: her prayers were for survival, not to appease the world.

Undeterred by the hate, Roshni declared, ‘I’m not scared of trolling. After conquering cancer, a few comments can’t break me. Life has taught me resilience. True living means sensitivity, humanity, and respect for one another. Before judging someone’s outfit or beliefs, consider the battles they’ve fought to stand where they are today.’

Roshni’s story resonates as a powerful reminder amid the noise of social media judgment. Her courage in facing both cancer and trolls highlights the need for empathy in online spaces.
