Mumbai’s high-profile film circles were shaken when gunfire erupted outside director Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence, thrusting the incident into the national spotlight. Mumbai Crime Branch has swung into high gear, unraveling a meticulously planned operation linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Investigators reveal that two of the four arrested suspects procured a scooty from Pune and strategically parked it near Shetty’s home. The shooter, acting on precise instructions, picked up the vehicle from this spot to execute the attack. Interrogations confirm the scooty was handed to the group about ten days prior, setting the stage for the assault.
At the heart of this conspiracy is Shubham Lonkar, a wanted operative of the Bishnoi syndicate. Sources say Lonkar orchestrated every detail, from directing the scooty’s placement to specifying the firing location. The vehicle belonged to a Pune resident and was sold to suspect Aditya Gayki for a mere Rs 30,000 using informal paperwork.
Aditya Gayki and accomplice Samarth Pomaji transported the scooty to Mumbai and abandoned it at the predetermined site, unaware of the shooter’s identity. This compartmentalized approach—small teams operating in isolation—mirrors tactics in previous gangland operations, minimizing risks of exposure.
The four detained individuals are Aditya Gyanshwar Gayki, Samarth Pomaji, Siddharth Deepak, and Swapnil Bandu. All maintained direct contact with Lonkar, who issued their orders. Crime Branch is grilling a fifth suspect, suspected of deeper involvement in the plot. As the probe intensifies, authorities vow to dismantle the gang’s Mumbai network, ensuring no stone is left unturned in protecting the city’s elite.
