Mumbai’s crime underworld has once again cast a dark shadow over Bollywood, with the shocking firing incident outside acclaimed director Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu grabbing headlines. As investigations intensify, Mumbai Crime Branch has mobilized multiple specialized teams to apprehend the elusive shooter who remains at large.
Senior police officials revealed that the probe has reached a critical juncture, with authorities confident of nabbing the perpetrator soon. Four suspects have already been arrested in a joint operation with Pune Police. During interrogation, these individuals confessed to providing logistical support for the attack, including scooters and other aids, but none turned out to be the actual gunman.
Investigators uncovered deep links to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Two of the arrested men were directly connected to Shubham Lonkar, a key henchman who orchestrated the entire operation. It was Lonkar who instructed the shooter to target Shetty’s home late Saturday night, firing several rounds before vanishing into the night.
The meticulously planned assault highlights the sophistication of these gang operations. Those who supplied vehicles were kept in the dark about the shooter’s identity, ensuring compartmentalization. Fortunately, no one was injured in the chaos that ensued, and Shetty remains safe.
Initially handled by local Mumbai police, the case was swiftly transferred to Crime Branch due to its gravity and gang connections. Teams are now scouring CCTV footage, mobile data, and technical leads to track the shooter’s movements. Security around Shetty’s Juhu bungalow has been significantly ramped up.
This brazen attack underscores rising threats to Bollywood figures amid gang rivalries. As Crime Branch closes in, the industry awaits justice and enhanced safety measures.
