During the release of Raj Kanwar’s *Jeet*, Karisma Kapoor was reminded of her mother Babita’s earlier film with the same title, which co-starred Karisma’s father, Randhir Kapoor. Karisma’s response highlighted the difference between the two films, positioning her *Jeet* as a modern reimagining. In actuality, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Raj Kanwar’s movie drew inspiration from Prakash Mehra’s *Muqaddar Ka Sikandar*. Sunny Deol played Karan, a role previously performed by Amitabh Bachchan. Karisma stepped into the role of Kajal, and Tabu portrayed Tulsi, a *tawaif* character. When questioned about casting Tabu, Sajid Nadiadwala pointed out that Meena Kumari, too, played a dancer in *Pakeezah*. The film added Salman Khan later on. *Jeet* was a commercial success but didn’t greatly benefit the actors. Director Raj Kanwar’s work, including hits like *Andaaz* and *Jeet*, often saw the credit go to the producers, Suneel Darshan and Sajid Nadiadwala respectively.
