Veteran actor Harish Rai, celebrated for his role in the widely acclaimed ‘KGF’ film series, has passed away after a prolonged struggle with cancer. Rai died on November 6, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances in Kannada cinema.

The funeral service became a solemn occasion for industry peers to gather and express their grief. Among those present was Yash, Rai’s co-star from ‘KGF’, who made it a point to attend and offer his final farewells. Yash was seen extending support to Rai’s grieving family, including a heartfelt moment with the late actor’s son, a scene captured in widely shared videos.

Harish Rai had bravely shared details about his health journey, including the considerable financial strain imposed by his cancer treatments. He had disclosed the exorbitant cost of specific medications, noting the high price of individual injections and the substantial overall cost of treatment cycles, which he had to manage for over a year as he battled thyroid cancer.

In past interviews, Rai had spoken about his relationship with Yash. He had mentioned that while he hadn’t directly asked Yash for extensive help recently due to his own reluctance to burden him, he was aware of Yash’s supportive nature. He believed Yash would readily assist if needed, acknowledging his busy schedule with the upcoming film ‘Toxic’.

Rai was a familiar face in Kannada cinema, with acting credits in films such as ‘Bangalore Underworld’, ‘Raj Bahadur’, and ‘Swayamvara’. His performance as Khasim in ‘KGF’ particularly resonated with audiences, adding to his significant contributions to the film industry.
