In a sharp critique amid rising tensions, Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav has weighed in on the controversial film ‘Yadav Ji Ki Love Story.’ Speaking in Mainpuri on February 21, the national general secretary dismissed the movie as a desperate bid for fame.

Yadav didn’t mince words, pointing to a broader societal malaise. ‘In India, many people are mentally disturbed,’ he said. ‘They act without thinking, harming others just to gain a sliver of popularity. They have no hesitation, no regard for whether their actions make sense or are outright foolish.’

The film, starring Vishal Mohan as Wasim Akhtar, tells the story of a girl in love with a boy from a different faith. Their interfaith romance faces religious barriers, sparking outrage in Sambhal and nearby areas. Yadav community members have protested, calling the title offensive and accusing it of targeting their group deliberately.

Yadav extended his criticism to India’s current state. ‘If someone praises the earth, everything else turns wrong,’ he quipped sarcastically. He lamented the decline in basic skills among government officials. ‘Even a joint secretary can’t draft a proper note now. In the old days, people learned to write letters properly through training. Today, they jump straight to ChatGPT or AI tools.’

Expressing deep concern over AI’s misuse, Yadav warned, ‘AI isn’t being used thoughtfully for serious tasks. It’s becoming a major problem.’ His remarks highlight growing debates on technology, culture, and public discourse in a polarized nation. As protests continue, the film’s fate hangs in balance, fueling discussions on free speech versus community sentiments.
