Mumbai, March 4: Comedian Rajpal Yadav has firmly debunked viral social media claims that he broke down in tears before a judge, pleading poverty. In an exclusive interview, the actor dismissed these stories as complete fabrications.
‘I never cried in front of the judge, nor did I ever tell the court I have no money,’ Rajpal stated categorically. He attributed the rumors to well-wishers spreading misinformation and clueless individuals twisting facts online for personal gain. ‘Respect everyone, but don’t fall for such baseless rumors,’ he urged.
Rajpal, known for his infectious laughter in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, emphasized that his face is synonymous with joy. ‘If you look at Rajpal’s face, it should only bring a smile. Expect nothing more,’ he quipped, reinforcing his commitment to a humorous public persona.
Amid the controversy, Rajpal expressed gratitude for industry support during tough times. Several colleagues stood by him, though their names faded in social media noise. His family’s unwavering backing remains his strongest pillar.
The backdrop to this stems from a cheque bounce case where Delhi High Court granted him interim bail until March 18 to attend his niece’s wedding. His lawyer informed the court of a Rs 1.5 crore demand draft deposit, with instructions to surrender his passport. The next hearing is set for March 18.
Rajpal, a staple in comedy hits, vows to honor legal proceedings while steering clear of gossip, choosing to live life with laughter.
