Mumbai’s entertainment scene is buzzing with anticipation for the rural comedy-drama ‘Thai Kelvi,’ set to hit theaters soon. Starring the powerhouse Radhika Sarathkumar in a pivotal role, the film explores themes of women’s empowerment. Radhika portrays a resilient mother entangled in a property dispute among her four sons, captivating audiences with her commanding presence.
Directed by Shivakumar Murugesan and produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Passion Studios, ‘Thai Kelvi’ promises a heartfelt narrative. At the recent trailer launch, producer and lead actor Sivakarthikeyan showered praise on Radhika’s unwavering dedication. He revealed a remarkable anecdote that underscores her professionalism.
Despite severe knee pain requiring surgery, Radhika continued shooting without a hitch. ‘Only Radhika ma’am could bring this character to life so authentically,’ Sivakarthikeyan shared. The team urged her to prioritize her health and undergo the procedure first, promising to accommodate the remaining scenes later.
When she returned post-surgery, coordinating the busy cast proved challenging. To manage this, they cleverly shot scenes where she appeared seated with others before her operation, saving solo shots for afterward. Remarkably, the entire shoot wrapped on the exact schedule set by director Murugesan, thanks to Radhika’s cooperation and the cast’s support.
Sivakarthikeyan emphasized how rare such commitment is in the industry. The film also features Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, and Rachael Rebecca in key roles. Mark your calendars for February 27, when ‘Thai Kelvi’ releases in cinemas, celebrating strength and family bonds.
