In a compelling call to action, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has urged the public to watch the upcoming film ‘Shatak: 100 Years of RSS,’ which chronicles a century of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s journey. Speaking in a video message shared on the film’s official Instagram account, Gadkari highlighted the stark disconnect between the organization’s public image and its actual contributions, calling it a tragic misrepresentation.

As a longtime swayamsevak, Gadkari emphasized that societal perceptions of the RSS often fail to reflect its ground-level work rooted in sacrifice, service, and national dedication. ‘The real essence of the RSS is tied to selfless service, yet it’s frequently viewed through a distorted lens,’ he stated, pointing to initiatives in tribal areas, education, cooperative strengthening, and social awareness campaigns led by millions of volunteers.

Gadkari stressed the importance of understanding the RSS ideology through its actions. He noted the organization’s undeniable role in nation-building, instilling patriotism and a drive for progress in the youth over the past 100 years. ‘I too draw inspiration from the RSS in my own journey,’ he shared, underscoring the need for collective efforts to propel India forward in every sector.

Addressing misconceptions, the minister highlighted the RSS’s ongoing work for the upliftment of Dalits, the underprivileged, and the poor. He clarified that Hindutva is not bound by caste or religion but represents a way of life deeply connected to Indian culture, traditions, and history. ‘Anyone can be Indian regardless of faith, and this inclusive vision is the greatest lesson from the RSS,’ Gadkari affirmed.

The film ‘Shatak: 100 Years of RSS’ aims to bridge these gaps by showcasing the organization’s ideology, debunking myths, and spotlighting its social endeavors and century-long struggles. Set for nationwide release in cinemas on February 20, this documentary promises to offer an authentic glimpse into the RSS’s legacy, making it a must-watch for anyone seeking the unvarnished truth.
