He entered the film industry at the age of 18, though his role in the 1978 film ‘Thiranottam’ was minor. The film’s release was delayed due to censorship issues. His career took off in 1980 with ‘Manjil Virinja Pookkal,’ which brought him recognition and became a blockbuster. He went on to star in many outstanding films.
