Mumbai’s entertainment scene is buzzing with the latest web series ‘Shabdon: Rituals and Traditions,’ where young actor Mihir Ahuja shines as Ghuppi Singh. The six-episode drama has captured audiences with its heartfelt portrayal of family bonds, musical legacies, and a teenager’s dreams clashing against parental expectations.
In an exclusive chat, Mihir couldn’t hold back his admiration for co-star Suwinder Vicky. ‘On screen, he plays this intense character, but in real life, he’s a bundle of joy—always cracking jokes and spreading warmth,’ Mihir shared. That infectious energy kept the entire crew motivated through grueling night shoots and tough conditions. ‘A positive set vibe turns long hours into something enjoyable,’ he added, emphasizing how passion among colleagues eases every challenge.
Shooting emotional scenes outdoors brought its own hurdles. Basic amenities were scarce, leading to mental fatigue, but music became Mihir’s anchor. ‘It helped me stay grounded during those high-pressure moments,’ he revealed. Even when a viral bug swept through the set, leaving everyone ill, the atmosphere remained upbeat and resilient.
‘Ghuppi Singh’ is a stammering teen obsessed with football, defying his father—a renowned singer—who dreams of him carrying forward the family’s musical heritage. Suwinder Vicky leads as the patriarch, with Mihir as the rebellious son, Mahi Raj as his sister, and Tarnjeet Kaur as the mother. Streaming on ZEE5 since February 6, the series masterfully weaves themes of tradition, aspiration, and familial love, reminding viewers of the timeless struggles within Indian households.
