Mumbai’s entertainment scene is buzzing as ‘Border 2’, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, storms the box office with impressive earnings. While the lead actors grab headlines, Medha Rana’s pivotal role as Dhanvanti Devi, wife of Major Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya, is turning heads too.
What many don’t know is Medha’s deep roots in an army family. Three generations, including her father who still serves, have dedicated their lives to the forces. This personal connection lent authenticity to her performance, capturing the raw fear and emotions of a soldier’s spouse.
Recalling the life-changing call, Medha shared exclusively, ‘I burst into tears of joy when the casting director, Mukesh Chhabra, personally informed me I’d been selected after multiple auditions. It was a dream I never thought possible for such a grand film.’
Her character embodies the unyielding courage of women who sacrifice everything for the nation. ‘Reading the script for the first time, I realized the weight of emotions and responsibility it carried,’ she added.
Medha felt a profound duty to portray the role justice, drawing from family stories. ‘My grandmother lived through similar times during the 1971 war when my grandfather was posted in Bangladesh. Her tales and advice were invaluable.’
Working with Varun Dhawan was a highlight. ‘He made my nervous first day on set comfortable and taught me a lot,’ she revealed.
‘Border 2’ diverges from its predecessor by weaving love, family bonds, and resilience amid uncertainty. Each character’s unique arc builds a compelling narrative of valor and emotion, making it a must-watch.
