The message, written in Nepali, conveyed the sentiment that “Today is a black day for Nepal when bullets respond to the voice of the people, outrage against corruption and demand for justice.” The protests turned violent when security forces opened fire on the crowds, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. Following the unrest, the government has decided to restore access to social media sites as requested by the protestors.
