Mumbai is buzzing with anticipation for the upcoming film ‘Godaan’, directed by Amit Prajapati, which dives deep into the sacred significance of the cow in Indian culture. Set to release soon under Kamadhenu International Production, the movie highlights the cultural, scientific, and social reverence for Gomata, with a special focus on the miraculous benefits of Panchagavya.
Former actress turned spiritual seeker Mamata Kulkarani has thrown her full support behind the project. In an exclusive interview, she urged every citizen, regardless of faith, to watch this eye-opening film. ‘This inspiring cinematic gem beautifully weaves our ancient traditions, science, and compassion,’ she enthused. ‘It’s a must-see for all Indians, as the cow isn’t just revered in Hindu scriptures like the Vedas and Puranas—it’s mentioned with honor in the Bible and Quran too. I’ve studied both.’
Mamata emphasized a universal truth: ‘Cow slaughter finds no justification in the Bible or the Quran. Across religions, the cow embodies the mother figure, and harming her is forbidden.’ Drawing from her profound spiritual journey, she revealed, ‘Through 25 years of intense meditation and penance, I’ve attained samadhi and witnessed the training and divine vision of Lord Vishnu’s tenth avatar, Kalki. A time is fast approaching when cows will cease to give milk, mirroring how we’re squandering water today. Those who don’t awaken now will regret it deeply.’
The film, she said, will provoke deep reflection. ‘The cow is the nurturing mother providing milk, elevated in every faith. Even in Islam, when asked whom to honor after Allah, the mother is mentioned three times.’ Mamata warned of our distorted mindset, quoting the Bhagavad Gita: ‘As you sow, so shall you reap.’ Today’s wars and famines are karmic consequences. ‘Think ten times before harming a cow,’ she implored, calling for collective awakening to preserve this divine gift.
