Mumbai’s cinematic scene is buzzing with excitement as Sunny Deol’s multi-starrer war epic ‘Border 2’ storms the box office, raking in over 250 crores globally since its release. The film’s gripping narrative and powerhouse performances have captivated audiences, setting new benchmarks in Indian cinema.
Amid the triumph, former Indian Army Major Khusboo Patni, a vocal advocate for women’s safety, shared her heartfelt reaction after watching the film. Posting on Instagram Stories, she lauded Varun Dhawan’s portrayal of Major Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya, calling it unforgettable. ‘Just watched Border 2. Varun Dhawan’s work is outstanding. His memorable performance as Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya will stay with us forever,’ she wrote, alongside a photo of Varun in character.
Khusboo’s post stirred her own army memories, especially from training days. ‘Some old memories have resurfaced, particularly from training. We live like brothers and sisters, die like brothers and sisters. We never forget name, salt, and honor. Jai Hind, Jai Bhavani,’ she added, evoking the unbreakable spirit of the armed forces.
This isn’t the first time Khusboo has donned her military persona publicly. On Republic Day, she shared stunning photos in her Major uniform, complete with a walkie-talkie and sunglasses, reminding fans of her storied service.
‘Border 2’ has dominated the box office from day one. It opened with 32 crores in India, surged to 36.5 crores on Saturday, peaked at 54 crores on Sunday, and earned 59 crores on Monday. Tuesday added 19.5 crores, pushing domestic collections to around 200 crores. Worldwide, the figure stands at 270.7 crores, proving its blockbuster status.
As Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardani 3’ gears up for release on January 30, competition looms. Yet, ‘Border 2’s momentum suggests it will hold strong, cementing its place as a patriotic powerhouse.
