The 17th season of the popular quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC) has commenced. Host Amitabh Bachchan is, as always, captivating audiences with his personal stories and reflections. In a recent episode, Big B shared a touching story from his own life that resonated with viewers.
On the show, contestant Vijay shared that his father is a daily wage worker and that he hopes to win enough money from KBC to buy a large house for his parents. Vijay also recounted taking his parents to a nice restaurant for dinner for the first time after securing employment, and encouraging them to order whatever they wished. This prompted Amitabh Bachchan to share his own experiences.
Amitabh Bachchan revealed, “The person you are sitting in front of, also ate in a restaurant for the first time one day.” He then recounted taking his parents to ‘Moti Mahal,’ a famous restaurant in Delhi, after he began earning.
He described feeling apprehensive at the time. He shared, “I was very scared. I thought, this is a big restaurant, only rich people go there. If we go, how will people look at us, what will our clothes be like? These thoughts run through your mind. So I can understand your situation.”
Bachchan also shared an additional anecdote during the episode. He said that his parents were with him in Srinagar during the filming of ‘Kabhi Kabhie’. Director Yash Chopra asked them to participate in a scene, playing the roles of Shashi Kapoor’s parents. They agreed and made a cameo appearance in the film.
