In a candid interview, Iranian-origin actress Elnaz Nourozi has showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy approach. Speaking exclusively, she highlighted how Modi has forged robust ties with nations across the globe, from Islamic countries to Israel, while prioritizing India’s own interests.
Nourozi, who has made India her professional home, emphasized that managing a vast nation like India is no small feat. ‘PM Modi has built strong relationships with multiple countries. Handling a populous giant like India isn’t easy, yet it has maintained excellent relations everywhere. This stems from leadership that places the safety and welfare of its people first,’ she remarked.
The actress drew a stark contrast with her experiences in Iran. ‘On the international stage, some decisions might not align with my views as an Iranian, but the truth is, your country and people come first. I don’t see this priority in Iran’s governance; they seem indifferent to our concerns,’ she added pointedly.
Nourozi has been a vocal critic of Iran’s ruling regime for years, frequently using social media to challenge Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s policies. Recently, amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, she posted a video holding the Iranian government accountable for any civilian casualties in the conflict.
Born in Iran, Nourozi moved to Germany as a child with her family before settling in India, where she rose to fame in acclaimed projects like ‘Sacred Games,’ ‘Tehran,’ and ‘Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond.’ She has also expressed fears for her safety, stating she cannot return to Iran.
Her comments come at a time when India’s diplomatic balancing act continues to draw global attention, underscoring Modi’s ‘India First’ doctrine in international relations. Nourozi’s endorsement adds a unique, personal perspective to the ongoing discourse on global leadership.
