Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh, is proving to be a box office hit. The crime-comedy film employs a novel strategy by presenting two distinct versions, each with a different ending. The story is set on a luxury cruise ship where a billionaire dies.
Early estimates indicate that Housefull 5 earned ₹10.75 crore on its fifth day, bringing the total collection to ₹111.25 crore in just five days. The movie’s strong performance began with an opening day collection of ₹24 crore. Day 2 saw an increase of 29.17% with ₹31 crore, followed by a rise to ₹32.5 crore on Day 3. Day 4 collections saw a decline to ₹13 crore.
The film features Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff as police officers investigating murders. The two versions reveal different culprits. In ‘A’, Abhishek Bachchan and Fardeen Khan are the killers, and in the second version, it’s Chitrangda Singh along with Abhishek Bachchan. The film also features Bobby Deol in a cameo role as the real Jolly, with the fake Jollys unmasked. Other stars include Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Dino Morea, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, and the leading ladies Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma.
