    Indian talent continues to make waves at the International Emmy Awards, with actors and creators garnering nominations and accolades that highlight the country’s rich storytelling tradition. This year’s nominees and past winners reflect the diverse range of talent emerging from India and its growing influence on the global entertainment landscape. Here are some of the Indian stars recognized.

    Diljit Dosanjh marked his debut at the International Emmy Awards with a Best Actor nomination. His performance as Amar Singh Chamkila in Imtiaz Ali’s “Amar Singh Chamkila” earned him the nomination, and he publicly credited the director for the opportunity. The director in turn recognized Diljit’s skills.

    Vir Das, the comedian and actor, made history in 2023 by winning the Emmy Award for Best Comedy Special for Vir Das: Landing, a defining moment for Indian stand-up comedy. He also hosted the International Emmy Awards, becoming the first Indian to do so. He expressed his gratitude on social media.

    Arjun Mathur earned India its inaugural International Emmy Awards nomination in the Best Actor category in 2020. His role in Made in Heaven, portraying a gay wedding planner, provided a narrative around love, identity, and acceptance.

    Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance in “Serious Men” earned him an Emmy nomination, where he portrayed a father. His performance added to India’s recognition at the International Emmy Awards.

    Shefali Shah received a nomination in 2023 for her role as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in Delhi Crime: Season 2, showcasing her ability to portray both authority and vulnerability.

    Jim Sarbh was nominated in 2023 for Rocket Boys, where he portrayed scientist Dr. Homi J. Bhabha. Their performances were celebrated for bringing forth an authentic Indian story.
