Mumbai’s theater scene recently witnessed a heartwarming moment that bridged the gap between fiction and faith. Nitish Bharadwaj, forever etched in hearts as Lord Krishna from the iconic Doordarshan series Mahabharat, left an elderly woman in tears during a fan meet after his play Chakravyuh.

The veteran actor, whose portrayal of Krishna in the 1988 epic continues to resonate decades later, shared a touching video on Instagram. Seated on a wheelchair, the senior citizen gazed at him with profound emotion, declaring, ‘We read Mahabharat, but you brought it to life. It feels like the Lord himself is delivering the sermon.’ Her words captured the timeless impact of Bharadwaj’s performance, which turned streets empty and homes glued to televisions across India and beyond.

Bharadwaj’s stage show Chakravyuh keeps the spirit alive, with the actor reprising Krishna to recite the Bhagavad Gita. The family’s reaction, especially the woman’s heartfelt praise for his acting, moved everyone present. ‘You’re the living embodiment of Krishna,’ she said, showering him with love.

Reflecting on the encounter, Bharadwaj wrote, ‘Such moments after Chakravyuh in Mumbai stay etched in my heart forever. Bowing to our senior citizens, they remind me of my parents. I humbly accept their purest love and blessings. All inspiration and strength within me comes from Krishna. I’m blessed he chose me as his vessel.’

Mahabharat, produced by B.R. Chopra on a massive 9 crore budget, wasn’t just a show—it was a cultural phenomenon. Its popularity surged internationally, with episodes drawing millions who paused daily life for an hour of epic storytelling. Even today, Bharadwaj embodies that legacy, proving art’s power to evoke divinity.

This viral video underscores why certain performances transcend screens, forging eternal bonds between actors and audiences. As Bharadwaj humbly positions himself as a mere messenger, fans worldwide reaffirm his divine stature.
