Mumbai’s entertainment powerhouse Ekta Kapoor has issued a stern warning to aspiring actors and filmmakers. On Friday, the joint managing director of Balaji Telefilms took to Instagram to alert her massive follower base about fraudulent casting calls exploiting her company’s name.
In a candid post, Ekta wrote, ‘Official notice: Beware of fake casting calls. Always verify. Stay updated.’ She detailed how unauthorized individuals and bogus social media accounts are peddling false opportunities for her upcoming TV serials, web series, and films. These scammers misuse Balaji Telefilms’ identity to lure victims with promises of roles.
Ekta made it crystal clear: Balaji never demands registration fees, audition charges, or any monetary deposits. Nor do they sign formal agreements without prior personal meetings at their official premises. ‘We distance ourselves from these unrelated entities and strongly condemn any exploitation of ambitious talents,’ she emphasized.
All legitimate casting happens exclusively through verified channels and official casting directors. Ekta urged the public to exercise extreme caution, verify credentials, and never share personal data or money with unverified representatives claiming to act on her behalf.
Known as the ‘Queen of Television,’ Ekta has revolutionized Indian TV with blockbusters like ‘Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,’ ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii,’ and ‘Naagin.’ Her contributions earned her the Padma Shri in 2020 from the Government of India. This timely advisory underscores the growing menace of scams in the competitive entertainment world, protecting dreams from deceit.
