Mumbai, July 28 – Actor Deepak Dutta, who recently worked with actress Nitu Kapoor on the film “Dadi Ki Shaadi,” recounted the dramatic events that unfolded while the crew was shooting in Shimla. He said that during the heightened border tension of Operation Sindoor, Kapoor placed the safety of the entire cast and crew above her own personal security.
According to Dutta, the team faced a serious crisis when news of Pakistani drone strikes in Punjab surfaced and Chandigarh Airport was abruptly shut. The fear among members and their families back in Mumbai grew, prompting discussions about halting the shoot and returning home.
The crew drafted an emergency evacuation plan that involved traveling by road to Delhi, where flights were still operating. Despite Ranbir Kapoor’s offer to arrange a private jet for Nitu Kapoor, she refused, insisting that she would leave only when every member of the team could be evacuated together. Dutta highlighted that her resolve demonstrated true leadership on an otherwise chaotic set.
