Boney Kapoor Fights for Sridevi’s Property: Allegations of Illegal Occupation Lead to Court Case

Boney Kapoor has initiated legal proceedings in the Madras High Court to address the alleged illegal occupation of his late wife Sridevi’s property in Chennai. The producer has filed a petition alleging that three individuals are unlawfully claiming ownership of the property. The legal action stems from Kapoor’s assertion that these individuals are engaged in fraudulent practices related to the property. The petition outlines the history of the property, which Sridevi purchased from M.C. Sambanda Mudaliar on April 19, 1988. The property was part of an agreement within Mudaliar’s family. Lately, three individuals have started to assert claims over the property. One individual is a woman who alleges to be the second wife of one of Mudaliar’s sons, and the other two are her sons. Kapoor contests the validity of the woman’s marriage, stating that the marriage is invalid. The petition further seeks the cancellation of legal heir certificates issued to the three individuals. Justice N. Anand Venkatesh, presiding over the case, has directed the Tambaram Taluk Tahsildar to deliver a decision within four weeks. The property, situated on East Coast Road (ECR) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is currently utilized as a farmhouse by Sridevi’s family.
