The vibrant world of Bollywood is dimmer today with the news of the passing of its “He-Man,” Dharmendra, who died on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. After a prolonged illness, the legendary actor took his last breath, leaving behind a legacy that spans over six decades and more than 300 films. Dharmendra was celebrated for his charisma and enduring impact on Indian cinema. Adding another layer to his remarkable life, he had also built a substantial business empire, with his net worth estimated to be between Rs 335 crore and Rs 450 crore.

Dharmendra’s family mourns his loss and continues his legacy. He is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and his six children: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol. He was also a grandfather to 13 grandchildren, and was known for his deep affection and close relationships with all his family members.

Even in his later years, Dharmendra remained dedicated to his craft. His most recent film, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,’ released in 2024, featured him as the grandfather of the protagonist. His upcoming film, ‘Ikkis,’ directed by Sriram Raghavan, is expected to be released soon, providing a final viewing of his iconic talent.

Dharmendra’s contribution to cinema is immense, with indelible performances in critically acclaimed films like ‘Sholay,’ ‘Chupke Chupke,’ ‘Dharam Veer,’ ‘Satyakam,’ ‘Jugnu,’ ‘Loafer,’ and ‘Seeta Aur Geeta.’ His signature blend of style, versatility, and commanding screen presence cemented his status as Bollywood’s “He-Man.”

Beyond the silver screen, Dharmendra demonstrated sharp business acumen. His considerable wealth was amassed through a diversified portfolio including extensive real estate holdings, investments in the hospitality sector, film production, and other long-term ventures. His 100-acre Lonavala farmhouse, a sprawling estate with gardens, stables, and agricultural areas, was a personal highlight, with proposals for luxury resort development being explored. He owned significant property assets, including commercial and residential buildings, alongside agricultural land in Maharashtra, and a well-curated collection of vehicles.

Dharmendra’s entrepreneurial ventures also included themed restaurants, such as ‘Garam Dharam Dhaba’ and ‘He-Man,’ which resonated with fans due to their nostalgic nod to his film roles. His involvement in producing films like the ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ series further showcased his influence in the industry. Dharmendra’s journey from a young actor to a business magnate and enduring cinematic icon is a profound source of inspiration. He is remembered not only for his unforgettable performances but also for his business acumen, humility, and the emphasis he placed on family values. His lasting impact will continue to be felt across cinema and beyond.
