Mumbai’s film buzz just got louder with Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited horror-comedy ‘Bhoot Bangla’ announcing a new release date. Originally slated for May 15, 2026, the film will now haunt theaters starting April 10, 2026. Akshay himself broke the news via an energetic Instagram video on Saturday, captioning it with excitement: the countdown is on, but earlier than planned.
Directed by the legendary Priyadarshan, this marks a thrilling reunion for the duo after 14 years. Their past collaborations like ‘Hello’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ were massive hits, blending scares with side-splitting humor. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ promises a fresh take on the genre with a stellar cast.
Joining Akshay are familiar faces like Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav, alongside newcomer Vaamika Gabbi. The ensemble is set to deliver laughs amid ghostly antics in this eagerly anticipated flick. Producers Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta R Kapoor have high hopes after fine-tuning the project.
This comes after Akshay’s recent outing in ‘Housefull 5’, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, which featured a powerhouse cast including Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, and many more. Despite high expectations, it underperformed at the box office and shifted to television.
On the horizon, Akshay teams up with Saif Ali Khan for the first time in 18 years in the action-packed ‘Hawaana’, whose shoot has wrapped up. Social media is abuzz with behind-the-scenes glimpses shared by the stars. Fans are thrilled, marking another chapter in Akshay’s versatile career. ‘Bhoot Bangla’ is poised to kick off a blockbuster summer with its earlier premiere.
