Sharmila Tagore shared her memories of working with Uttam Kumar and the legendary director Satyajit Ray. She recalled her experiences on the set of ‘Nayak,’ and other films like ‘Sesh Anka,’ and the bilinguals ‘Amanush’ and ‘Anand Ashram.’ Tagore discussed Ray’s suggestion for her character’s look, including the use of spectacles. She reflected on the film’s themes, such as the fleeting nature of a star’s fame and the public’s perception of celebrities. Tagore finds the film’s form to be unique in its portrayal of fleeting moments in people’s lives, she is glad a new generation is discovering ‘Nayak’.
