In a heartfelt reflection on his illustrious career, veteran actor Anupam Kher shared an inspiring tale of evolution from the analog era to the digital age. Speaking at a recent event, the 68-year-old icon traced his personal and professional journey, highlighting how technology has reshaped entertainment.

Kher reminisced about his early days, when music flowed from the crackling needles of gramophones. ‘Those were times when a single record could captivate an entire family for hours,’ he said, evoking nostalgia for the pre-digital world. Radio, he added, was the lifeline of information and stories, with voices like Ameen Sayani ruling the airwaves.

As decades passed, Kher witnessed the shift to cassettes, CDs, and eventually streaming giants like Spotify. ‘From waiting weeks for a new album to having the world’s music at our fingertips, the change is mind-boggling,’ he noted. This mirrors his own transition in acting—from theater stages and radio dramas to Bollywood blockbusters and now dominating OTT platforms.

The actor credited his adaptability for a career spanning over four decades. Hits like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and recent OTT successes such as ‘The Kashmir Files’ exemplify his versatility. Kher emphasized that while technology evolves, the essence of storytelling remains unchanged.

Looking ahead, he expressed excitement for AI and virtual reality in filmmaking. ‘The future is thrilling, but let’s not forget the roots,’ Kher urged young artists. His journey serves as a beacon for aspiring talents navigating today’s fast-paced industry.
