Fans of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara franchise are eagerly awaiting the release of Chapter 1. The film’s posters have generated considerable excitement. The original Kantara, despite its initial release during the COVID-19 pandemic, became a major success both in India and internationally. The second installment is set for release in 2025. Reports suggest the trailer for Kantara Chapter 1 could be released on September 20, 2025. Although this date is unconfirmed, the film has already made history in Kannada cinema by selling its OTT rights for around 125 crore rupees, the highest to date for a Kannada film. The theatrical release is scheduled for October 2, 2025.
Rishab Shetty is the film’s lead actor and director, having received a National Award for the first film. Rukmini Vasant will star alongside him, with music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath. The estimated production budget is 125 crore rupees.
