The much-anticipated Hindi film, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ starring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, will hit theaters on June 20, 2025, with pre-booking now available. Genelia announced the news on social media, which thrilled fans.
A video shared on Instagram by Zee Music Company features Genelia talking about the upcoming film. The caption reads: “Sitaare sirf zameen par nahi, screen par bhi chamkenge! Advance bookings are OPEN! Your date with Sitaare is waiting.”
The movie, seen as a thematic successor to ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ is a heartwarming comedy about love, laughter, and happiness, as shown in its trailer.
After some delays, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ has received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The changes proposed by the CBFC’s Examining Committee were apparently not acceptable to Aamir Khan. Consequently, the Revising Committee (RC), led by Vaman Kendre, re-examined the film on June 16.
The Revising Committee made several changes: They replaced the term “business woman” with “business person.” A reference to Michael Jackson was changed to “Lovebirds.” An image of the word “Kamal” was removed. A new voiceover disclaimer was added, and an old one was removed. A quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi was added after the opening disclaimer.
The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and introduces 10 new faces: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is directed by R. S. Prasanna, who previously directed the hit film ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.’ This is one of the largest collaborations in his career.
The film stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in the lead roles, alongside new talent. Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the lyrics, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the music. Divy Nidhi Sharma is the screenplay writer.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is produced by Aamir Khan, Aparna Purohit, B. Shrinivas Rao, and Ravi Bhagchandka.
The film is set to release in theaters on June 20, 2025.
