    New Delhi: Cognition, a US-based company, has unveiled Devin and announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence chatbot called Devin. This AI chatbot can write, code, and create using a single prompt.

    The company, a startup backed by Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, claims that this AI chatbot is the world's first fully autonomous AI software engineer. Unlike other AI counterparts, it stands out because it doesn't just provide coding suggestions or autocomplete tasks. Moreover, it can take on and complete an entire software project independently.

    Cognition calls it a “tireless, skilled teammate” that is “equally ready to build alongside you or independently complete tasks for you to review.” Additionally, the company stated that “with Devin, engineers can focus on more interesting problems, and engineering teams can strive for more ambitious goals.”

    Described as a “tireless, skilled teammate” by Cognition, Devin stands out for its ability to operate autonomously, offering both collaboration and independent task completion. According to Cognition, Devin empowers engineers to tackle more engaging challenges while enabling engineering teams to pursue ambitious objectives.     Notably, the initial access to Devin has been limited, with only a select few having the opportunity to utilize its capabilities. People who've tested it say Devin is really good at coding. It's even better and is exceptional and surpasses even the most advanced LLMs currently available, such as GPT-4 and Gemini. Some folks who tried it early said they could make whole websites and basic games in only 5-10 minutes using Devin.

    In testing, Devin demonstrated remarkable performance, solving 13.86% of open issues on Github, far surpassing other AI-powered assistants like Anthropic's Claude (4.8%) and GPT-4 (1.8%).

    Cognition AI boasts notable investors, including PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, who has injected $22 million into the company. The company's founders, Scott Wu (CEO), Steven Hao (CTO), and Walden Yan (CPO), have a track record of success in international coding competitions, amassing 10 gold medals in top-tier events since their teenage years. The newly launched smartphone iQOO Z9 5G runs on Android 14-based Funtouch 14 custom skin out of the box. The handset is crowned as the fastest smartphone in its segment with an impressive AnTuTu score of 734924. The smartphone comes with two years of Android updates and three years of security updates.

    For the 8GB RAM+128 GB storage variant, the price of the smartphone is Rs 19,999. The 8GB RAM+256GB storage model carries a price tag of Rs 21,999. Apart from this, there is a flat Rs 2,000 instant discount on making payments via HDFC and ICICI Bank debit and credit cards. The authors alleged that Nvidia used their copyrighted books without permission in the development of its NeMo platform, sparking a contentious legal battle over intellectual property rights.

    The authors argue that their books were part of a dataset of 196,640 books used to train Nvidia's NeMo AI platform. They claim that the platform aimed to replicate everyday written language but was shut down in October following allegations of copyright infringement. The legal document suggests that Nvidia's action to remove the NeMo dataset implies acknowledgment of copyright violation.     The authors are seeking unspecified compensation on behalf of people in the United States whose copyrighted works were used to train NeMo's large language models during the past three years, in the proposed class action.     Nvidia chose not to provide a comment on Sunday, and lawyers representing the authors did not respond immediately to requests for further comment on Sunday. This lawsuit pulls Nvidia into a larger pool of legal disputes initiated by writers, as well as The New York Times, concerning generative AI. Generative AI generates new content using inputs like text, images, and sounds.

    Other tech giants, including OpenAI, the developer of the AI ​​platform ChatGPT, and its collaborator Microsoft, are also facing legal issues linked to generative AI.
